THE UNIVERSITIES' SCHEME
The “Universities’ Scheme of the United Grand Lodge of Antient Free & Accepted Freemasons of England”, to give it its full title, was established by and under the authority of the Board of General Purposes of the in 2005.
The objective of the Scheme is to establish or enhance arrangements and opportunities
for undergraduates and other University members to join and enjoy Freemasonry. In
particular the Scheme shall, in collaboration with the relevant Metropolitan, Provincial
or District Grand Master, identify suitable Lodges in university cities and towns
as may be desirous of initiating and developing undergraduate and postgraduate students
(Salisbury Union being one such Lodge); to receive such Brethren as have been initiated
whilst a student with a view to further developing them in their Masonic careers;
provide such oversight, support and training such Lodges as may from time to time
be considered expedient by the Scheme Committee; and foster co-
